HOW THE FOX NEWS CHANNEL MIGHT HAVE HANDLED WATERGATE

From Bill O'Reilly:  "Talking Points believes in the letter of law and condemns the break-in into the Democratic National Headquarters.  But  it appears that the Washington Post has a vendetta against the Nixon White House.  Ten stories have appeared on the front page of the Post  on this Watergate break-in while only one has appeared in the liberal New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.  Why all this attention on what still appears to Talking Points as just a third-rate burglary.  If it is more than that, then let the FBI tell us. Certainly reasonable people would not question FBI’s honesty and ability to cut through to the truth.   Much to the Post’s disappointment, Richard Nixon was re-elected.  Of course I could be wrong, but it looks like the Post doesn’t know the '72 campaign is over."

ON HANNITY AND COLMES, HANNITY INTERVIEWS ANN COULTER

Hannity:  I’m sure none of us condone illegal activity, but why do you suppose the Washington Post is making such a big deal of this Watergate thing?

Coulter:   As much as the liberal media would like, there is no connection so far to the White House, and there never will be.  They're in a tizzy because their man McGovern got slaughtered.   Richard Nixon is not stupid, and he has not surrounded himself with the kind of people who would do such a silly thing. What would they find at the Democratic Headquarters anyway, a game plan on how to lose an election in a landslide?

Hannity:  And you just have to believe that these reporters, Woodward and Bernstein…well let’s just say they didn’t vote for the President.

Coulter:  Look, the news media has had a grudge against Dick Nixon since he first ran for Congress in 1946.  He’s a strong anti-communist and Alan’s liberal pals in the media don’t like that.  They thought they had him once, but then came the Checkers speech.  No one but the Post is on this story, because there is no story.  I would cancel by subscription, if I read the paper in the first place.

Hannity:  And what about their anonymous sources? Can we believe them?

Coulter:  For all I know, they’re just making them up.  And who are these guys Woodward and Bernstein?  Six months from now they’ll probably be working for the Podunk Times, where they belong.

Hannity:  We're out of time. Thanks to our guest Ann Coulter whose latest book is:  Why Democrats are more dangerous than Communists.
