(FRIDAY)

Do you have a different screen capture of Sandy Wells?  To me, he's always sounded like "the Perry Como of radio news" (so laid-back he might drift off to sleep at any time) and the image you've been using fits right in!

I was in a shopping center in Cerritos the other day and I saw a Channel 2/9 news van parked as if it was break time.  Fifteen minutes later, a Channel 5 van drove in, and Lu Parker and her "-ographer" went into Starbucks (or as Lu would pronounce it, "Storrbucks.")  I knew something must be up in the area-- turned out there was a body found in a car trunk in nearby Artesia.

Ron.. This is just from my personal experience with "older" women - yes, I
am well past my prime of being a boy-toy, However, I used to enjoy the
enthusiasm and pervasiveness of a sex-crazed woman just passing her prime -
trying to hold onto the last bit of youth before before menopause sets in
and gravity really takes over.  I noticed Laura's hair and her general look
a few days before you made mention of it. What she has is called F-F-L -
this is the "Freshly FFF'd Look."

(TUESDAY)

Ron,

If you TIVO’d KABC’s 11pm cast tonight, check out a great lead live shot on the Oxnard Sunbather Killed story. They were the only LA station to go up there (besides KEYT-TV) – and not only got WAY more information than the wire story (including the woman’s name), but the reporter and photog ended up being the ones who told her family what happened (they were all in town for her son’s wedding yesterday). Truly a sad story, but also an instance when sending a night side crew all the way to Oxnard can pay off.

(Yes, I had a look. Just so readers don't misunderstand. KABC did not go up to the family and tell them that their family member was dead. Rather, family came up to Elsa Ramon and her photographer, asking what they were doing there. The family only knew that their relative was missing. KABC explained why they were there, and then suggested that the family contact the police. Sounds like they handled it just right.-Ron)
