NEW SHOW FOR SANCHEZ AND JACKSON

Word is out that 20th Century Fox television wants to launch a Regis and Kelly national type morning show with Lauren Sanchez and Randy Jackson. They're shooting for 2006.

First, you have to say, anything that gets this woman out of the news business is a positive thing. (Don't tell me she'll continue to anchor the news! I haven't heard.) And certainly she is better suited to a show which relies on looks and personality, as opposed to knowledge and credibility.  And can you imagine what kind of stupid things Rock Sanchez will say is such a format?  That could be entertaining in its own way. But sure, it is a sad commentary that someone can be so incompetent at her job, deceive everyone about a college degree she never had, and then get a higher profile national gig.  Talk about justice being blind.

Anyway, one KTTV insider writes:

"When word got out in the news room, several people said it, almost at
the same time...." and they'll talk about - what?"

Another comment LOUDLY mentioned:

"It's  the Ryan Seacrest series follow, another great  Fox show in the works..."

I think it's fair to say that Sanchez has no more credibility with most of the folks in the KTTV/KCOP newsroom than she has with most of you.  But obviously, somebody somewhere sure likes her.  And I should add this... people who work with her say she is very nice.
