About Ron

I was recently a part time radio reporter for KNX in Los Angeles (1997-2002). I grew up in Los Angeles, and have spent my life in California. I worked twelve years in Bakersfield television as a reporter, a producer, a talk show host and finally a news director.

I started my career at KMPC radio in Los Angeles as one of the sportswire guys. Over the years, I wrote and produced a couple of syndicated radio shows (Record Report and Music & Memories). I was a disc jockey and program director in Lompoc and Arroyo Grande, many years ago. I've also been a radio talk show host, and managed to win three Golden Mikes for radio commentaries. I even spent part of one summer doing play-by-play for the Bakersfield Mariners, which was great fun.

As for education, I attended Fairfax High School, West LA College, and graduated from UCLA in 1974 with a degree in history.

On December 5th (2003), I married my longtime girlfriend Christy Knorr, who is a newscast producer at KCAL TV.  I also have a grown son, who I raised as a single parent since he was five years old, who lives in Bakersfield.
